25-year-old man dies in Moore County crash

A 25-year-old man died Sunday night in a single-car crash in Moore County.

Officials said the crash occurred around 11 p.m. on Busbee Road off of NC Highway-705 when Stoney Colon Crabtree's Ford Ranger pickup truck ran off the left side of the road. The truck struck a tree and burst into flames.

According to officials, a person living in a home nearby pulled Crabtree from the truck. Despite the efforts of the Good Samaritan, Crabtree died at the scene. There were no passengers in the truck.

Busbee Road was closed in both directions for almost two hours after the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
