Bulls shut out in 2025 home opener against Sugar Land

The Durham Bulls dropped their home opener of the 2025 season 2-0 to the Sugar Land Space Cowboys Tuesday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

The Space Cowboys got on the board in the top of the third inning after Shay Whitcomb doubled on a live drive to leftfield, bringing in Luis Guillorme and Brice Matthews.

The Bulls had a chance to get on the board in the bottom of the sixth, but Eloy Jiminez flew out into a double play and the Bulls never got close to scoring again, despite having six hits in the game.

Joe Boyle picked up the loss for the Bulls despite giving up only two hits and striking out six batters.

The Bulls will get the opportunity to even the series on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
