A bomb threat prompted an evacuation at Heritage High School on Thursday morning, with some students needing help dealing with the sweltering heat outside.
The school became aware of the threat around 10:17 a.m. and told all students and staff to leave the building.

Before 10:45 a.m., the school sent the following message to families:
"This is an urgent message. Students are safe. We have evacuated all students and staff to our stadium due to a bomb threat. WCPSS Security and law enforcement are currently investigating."
The evacuation forced students to be outside for more than two hours in some cases. The temperature rose into the upper 90s and heat index values were in the 100s on Thursday afternoon. WRAL News learned at least a dozen students received medical attention during the evacuation. According to Wake EMS, two students and one adult were transported for heat-related illnesses.
The school eventually dismissed at noon due to the intense heat.
School administrators said law enforcement found no explosive devices on campus.
"While no bombs or suspicious devices were found on our school’s campus, law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate," a message from the school read.
Elsewhere in Wake County, Wakefield High School in Raleigh and Willow Spring High School in Fuquay-Varina dismissed early on Thursday due to air conditioning problems.
