A 2-year-old girl who was shot at an apartment complex in Durham has died from her injuries, police said.

At 8:14 p.m. on June 20, Durham police responded to a report of a gunshot wound at Campus Crossings along East Cornwallis Road.

When officers arrived, they found three victims – a 22-year-old man, 20-year-old woman and 2-year-old girl – who had been shot. Emergency Medical Services responded and took all three victims to a local hospital. The child had life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, police reported the girl was pronounced dead.

The other two victims survived.

According to a GoFundMe soliciting money to help with her burial, the child identified as Manariah was shot in the forehead.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding what happened. There have been no arrests made.
