Durham Schools names acting CFO after resignation, ongoing staffing issues

Durham Public Schools announced that Cierra Ojijo will be the acting chief financial officer (CFO) for the district.

Ojijo will be acting CFO, effective Jan. 31. She is currently the Senior Executive Director of Financial Services for DPS.

Paul LeSieur resigned on Friday after an overpayment error with school staff members. LeSieur’s resignation will go into effect on Jan. 31, according to Superintendent Dr. Pascal Mubenga.

According to the DPS website, Ojijo comes from Warren County Schools as chief finance officer. She previously worked in the Wake County Public School System, according to the district's website, and she earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
