Eddie Harris, better known as Mr. Lawrence, has been missing since Nov. 4. For more than a month, his family has been desperately hoping for answers.
“If he had gotten hit by a car – which he never walked on the road – or he had gotten sick and passed away, it wouldn’t be so bad. But not knowing what has happened to him is very hard,” his niece Fatima Kittrell said.

The 82-year-old showed signs of undiagnosed dementia. But Harris’ sister, who wasn’t comfortable talking on camera, says she doesn’t believe he wandered off.
His sister says he had fallen just about a week before he went missing, making it difficult for him to walk very far. She also told WRAL they found Harris’ dog locked in the bathroom after he disappeared.
Granville County deputies said they’ve worked with volunteers and North Carolina Search Dogs to search different parts of the Antioch neighborhood. Additionally, deputies are looking through video footage near his home, reviewing bank statements, interviewing witnesses and looking into cell tower data.
“I even called to different hospitals looking for a John Doe. They said they don’t have any,” Kittrell said.
