Georgia, seeking a third consecutive national title, was the near-unanimous No. 1 pick among coaches in the preseason poll.
The Bulldogs received 61 of 66 first-place votes by coaches. Michigan is No. 2 with Alabama (four first-place vote) and Ohio State (one first-place vote) finishing third and fourth, respectively. LSU rounds out the top five.

Led by quarterback Drake Maye, the ACC's preseason player of the year, North Carolina was picked No. 20, the third of three ACC teams in the preseason poll. Florida State is No. 8 and Clemson is No. 9. Clemson was picked to win the ACC.
Notre Dame, which plays at NC State and at Duke in 2023, is No. 13.
South Carolina, which opens the season vs. North Carolina in Charlotte, just missed. The Gamecocks are second in the others receiving votes category.
NC State received 19 votes total. Wake Forest received six votes and Duke received two.
Duke's Mike Elko and Wake Forest's Dave Clawson are among the panel's 63 voters.
The Associated Press Top 25 poll will be released Monday, Aug. 14.
