Neighbors concerned after three men shot on W. North Street in Raleigh

Three men were shot Sunday morning on W. North Street in Raleigh.

Police said they received the call at 1:45 a.m.

The three men who were shot were taken to the hospital.

One man has serious injuries and the other two have non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

This is not the first time there has been a shooting on West North Street this year. In April, a former NC State football player was arrested for firing shots at an apartment complex on that same street.

Woody Biggs, a resident in the neighborhood, said during a city council meeting last year that he's seen an uptick in crime in the area.

"35 years ago, I never gave it a second thought to walk through Glenwood South late at night. I do now," Biggs said. "I've seen the area get wild and out of control."

The recent shootings has neighbors in the area concerned about being out in Glenwood South at night.

"Our complex even told us," said Pauline Kim, who said she likes to walk her dog around the neighborhood at night. "We got an email recently saying crime is going up so to be more aware of our surroundings."

Some residents are already cautious, but the recent uptick has a few feeling tense.

"I try to be cautious, but it definitely is a little bit concerning," said Trevor Wantland, another resident in the Glenwood South neighborhood.

Police have no suspects in custody and have not made any arrests.

Police have not yet determined whether this shooting was random or an isolated incident.
