North Carolina Tar Heels offensive coordinator Phil Longo is leaving Chapel Hill to take the University of Wisconsin offensive coordinator job, according to several media reports.

The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman was first to report the news about Longo.

Longo is set to join new Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell’s staff.

Longo, 54, served as North Carolina’s offensive coordinator since 2019.

In the 2022 season, Longo helped develop redshirt freshman quarterback Drake Maye.

On Thursday night, Maye tweeted that he does not plan to transfer.

Longo also coached several NFL players, including quarterback Sam Howell, running back Javonte Williams, running back Michael Carter, running back Ty Chandler, wide receiver Dazz Newsome, wide receiver Dyami Brown, offensive lineman Joshua Ezeudu, offensive lineman Marcus McKethan.
