A child was shot in the stomach Thursday morning during a drive-by shooting in Goldsboro, according to law enforcement officials.
Legend Armstrong, 2, was shot in the stomach as a passenger in the car as the vehicle traveled down South Hugh Street, according to the baby's mother, Juanisha Armstrong.

"All of a sudden, they started shooting from a car, and we were in another car," she said.
The toddler is in critical condition after the shooting on South Hugh Street near Olivia Lane, according to the Goldsboro Police Department. Police are still searching for the gunman, who will face attempted first-degree murder charges.
No one else was injured in the shooting. Armstrong said her son would have to have a bullet removed from his stomach at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. Initially, first responders took Legend Armstrong to Wayne UNC Health Care, police said.
"I don't feel like we were [the] target," she said.
Police said the toddler was in a car driven by his parents on South Slocumb Street. According to the police, the shooter was in a separate car and shot into the car Armstrong was in.
Lleirrum Drarehs, who lives near the shooting scene, ran out of his house after hearing sirens and started recording video on his phone.
"I heard shots and went down there [when] police came up," Drarehs said.
Drarehs estimated he heard 15 gunshots.
WRAL News also saw a blue Chevrolet Impala with several holes in it.
