Woman dies after shots fired inside Rocky Mount home

A woman died from a shooting in Rocky Mount on Saturday night.

Rocky Mount police arrived at a home where gunshots were heard in the 300 block of Middle Street around 11:20.

The 44-year-old woman was found with gunshot wounds. She was taken to UNC Nash Health Care, where she died from her injuries.

Police believe someone fired at the home and then left the area. The woman's boyfriend, also inside the home at the time, was not hurt.

The woman's name was not revealed in a release from police. There was no information about a suspect.

There was another deadly shooting in Rocky Mount on Saturday afternoon on Martin Luther King Park on Virginia Street.
