2 cats, 1 dog die when home goes up in flames in Cumberland County

An arson investigation is underway after a Cumberland County home went up in flames on Friday night.

Firefighters said the home on Wade Stedman Road was completely engulfed in flames when they arrived.

Sadly, two cats and one dog died in the fire. No one else was injured.

One person is now without a place to live, and the Red Cross is assisting.

WRAL News is still working to learn more about how the fire started -- but authorities believe it may have been intentional.
