Rocky Mount police arrested a man accused of killing a 15-month-old boy.

Isaiah Miller, 19, is charged with the first-degree murder of Aiden Silver and felony child abuse. Miller was in a dating relationship with Silver's mother at the time of the October incident, police said.

Authorities are holding Miller without bond at the Nash County Detention Center.

The Rocky Mount Criminal Investigation Division has upgraded the suspicious death investigation to a homicide. After receiving the autopsy report from the North Carolina Medical Examiner's Office, authorities determined that Silver died from internal injuries. Authorities ruled that Silver's injuries were not accidental.

Police initially received a report a toddler had fallen and was losing consciousness on Oct. 23 on York Street near Evergreen Road.

The Rocky Mount Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate. Anyone with information to call the Rocky Mount Police Department at 252-972-1411 or call Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111 for cash rewards.
