A Raleigh man has been charged in the killing of a 33-year-old over the weekend, police said Tuesday.
Kwame Smith, 29, of Fox Hollow Drive, was charged with the murder of George Franklin Burnette, who died Sunday.

Smith was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon after he assaulted three people with a hunting knife Sunday, arrest warrants state.
Police did not say how Burnette died.
Early Sunday morning, Raleigh police officers responded to a possible shooting at Club 30+, located at 308 Rush St. Officers found Burnette suffering life-threatening injuries.
Shortly afterward, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man arrived at WakeMed with stab wounds, police said. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
A video posted to social media showed a vigil for Burnette outside of Club 30+. Online, his friends called his death a loss to the community.
Smith was being held in the Wake County jail.
He's previously been arrested on gun, assault and drug charges, records show.
Burnett was one of two men killed in Raleigh on Sunday. Another man died at a hospital after a shooting off of Varsity Drive around 2:20 a.m.
The deaths brought the number of homicides in Raleigh to 29. It's been more than 10 years since Raleigh recorded that many homicides. In 2008, there were 35 homicide victims.
