After more than 45 years in Raleigh, the movie theater in Mission Valley Shopping Center has closed its doors.

On Tuesday, the theater, located at the corner of Western Boulevard and Avent Ferry Road, announced it was closed due to plumbing issues. The marquee outside the theater read, "We are drowning literally," and comments on social media indicated that the theater had recently experienced leaks.
On Wednesday, floor fans were blowing inside the theater, and carpet had been ripped up. Mission Valley did not confirm that water damage was the reason the theater would close permanently.
