Tyler's Taproom to close Durham location

After 14 years at American Tobacco Campus, Tyler's Taproom will close its doors in the coming weeks, officials announced Monday.

The restaurant, at 324 Blackwell St., will be bringing back some old favorites to the menu and releasing special beers before it closes on April 19.

Tyler's Taproom closed its Raleigh location in 2015 and its Apex location in 2017. The Carrboro location, at 102 E. Main St., remains open.

American Tobacco Campus is reportedly exploring other uses for the space, which is near Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the Durham Performing Arts Center.

Earlier this year, ATC hired global commercial real estate firm CBRE to lead a "revisioning strategy" to bring new restaurants and other concepts to the campus. The group has been conducting an analysis of current offerings on campus as well as popular trends in the market.

ATC announced last week thatBull City Mini golfwill open in the old Bullpen location on Blackwell Street on May 11. The holes were designed by members of the community, who submitted ideas when the project was announced last year.
