The owners of Kaiju Bowl and Bao announced Friday on Facebook that they would be closing the restaurant for a few weeks for a concept change. The restaurant will officially close after this weekend.

"Our sister restaurant Oak City Meatball will be taking over and we will have more to announce in the coming week," owners wrote. "We've really enjoyed launching Kaiju and trying to do something a little different and funky and we've learned a ton from the experience. We hope you've all enjoyed our time here."

Owners said the staff have been offered positions with Oak City Meatball until the new concept opens.

Kaiju opened its doors at 170 E. Davie St. in July.
