A pregnant 18-year-old and her unborn child died Monday night after a shooting in High Point.

Around 10:30 p.m., High Point police responded to a home on Thissell Street .

Officers found Corey Ray, 32, suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks. Anastasia Ray, 18, approximately 7 to 8 months pregnant, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Both victims were transported to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, where Anastasia Ray died from her injuries. Corey is listed in stable condition.

Police say Anastasia and her unborn child are the 11th and 12th persons killed in High Point in 2018.
