Spring Break is coming up for many families across the Triangle. And it's already here for some of us!
If you don't have big plans, there are plenty of attractions across North Carolina that offer something for families and are a quick drive from Raleigh and the Triangle.

The 18-acre park is home to more than 200 species, including some of the rarest birds on Earth. Find it in Scotland Neck, N.C., about 90 minutes from the Triangle.
The 35,000-ton naval ship sits on the Cape Fear River across from downtown Wilmington. It's about two hours from the Triangle.
The aquarium, one of three North Carolina aquariums, sits on Kure Beach, about 2 1/2 hours from the Triangle. The 93,000-square-foot building sits on a 23-acre site near the ocean. The signature feature is a towering, two-story, 235,000-gallon tank that includes sharks, rays, eels, fish and other aquatic creatures.
From rides aboard trains and a train turntable to opportunities to board cabooses and check out all kinds of vintage cars and a Wright Flyer replica, this museum is a worthy road trip, especially for families with transportation-loving kids. It's about two hours from the Triangle.
The state historic site in New Bern features a collection of historic buildings along with the N.C. History Center, which features innovative and interactive exhibits. It's about two hours from the Triangle.
