Lawmakers have to decide before Christmas whether they will seek re-election, and a growing number say this term will be their last. ​

Whether they're leaving to run for other offices, retiring after long careers, or resigning to take on other public service challenges, at least 23 sitting state House members and Senators will leave their chambers next year, if they haven't already cast their last vote as a lawmaker.
