Orange County authorities believe an older model Ford truck that surveillance video caught at the scene is linked to the theft of two HVAC units.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in finding out who stole a pair of HVAC units on Monday.

Investigators believe whoever stole the units drove a pickup truck to take them from the Cedar Grove Ruritan Club on Efland Cedar Grove Road.

Surveillance photos and video show an older, square-bodied truck, probably a Ford, at the building. The truck had tinted windows and a broken headlight on the passenger side. At least two people were in the truck, according to investigators.

Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood is offering a $1500 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information should call (919) 245-2960 or email jnazworth@orangecountync.gov.

“The historic Ruritan building has served as the lifeblood of the Cedar Grove community for many years, in many ways," said Sheriff Blackwood. "Not only is this a criminal offense harming the Ruritans, it is also a slap in the face to the people who value this facility and what it means to this community.”
