Good news! Great Dane who delivered 15 puppies finds forever home

A Raleigh-based animal rescue is sharing good news about Meadow, a mama Great Dane who delivered 15 puppies last month.

After giving birth to 15 pups in October, Meadow has found a much-deserved forever home.

"She was adopted by an amazing family who fell in love with her story and then fell in love with her," the rescue wrote. "She is thriving and loving being a pup and not just a mama."

Perfectly Imperfect Pups also announced Tuesday that Meadow’s puppies are now six weeks old. The 13 boys and two girls will visit the vet for their first checkup. Their names: Otis, Scout, Bruno, Samson, Diego, Felix, Winston, Bailey, Duke, Mack, Fiona, Axel, Finn, Cosmo and Buster.

"They are all thriving, growing and being goofy fun puppies," the rescue shared.

A DNA test revealed the puppies are 50% Great Dane and 50% Doberman. They will soon be available for adoption.

Meadow's life hasn't been an easy one. Sadly, she was passed around to five different homes in less than a year.

"She gave birth to another litter in February 2023, and that started her journey of many homes," said the rescue.

Perfectly Imperfect Pups says they are so proud of their foster parents, who take in dogs without knowing what the next few days or months could bring.

"Taking in a pregnant dog is even more of a challenge because you don’t always know when mom will give birth, how many puppies will be born, or what complications may come along," said Nicole Kincaid, founder and director of Perfectly Imperfect Pups.

Before Meadow was adopted, her foster mom, Shari, was juggling the responsibilities of caring for the unexpectedly large new family, making sure the puppies were fed enough to gain weight and be healthy.

Kincaid assured Meadow that this will be her last litter and her next home will be forever.
