Downed power lines reported on US 1 in Apex

Downed power lines at U.S. Highway 1 and Ten Ten Road in Apex caused traffic delays and road closures Friday evening.

The road was closed for several hours while crews cleared the area. 

Southbound traffic was being detoured onto U.S. Highway 64 westbound and then onto N.C. Highway 55.

Northbound traffic was being diverted onto N.C. 55 at exit 95 toward Apex, Holly Spring and Fuquay-Varina.

Drivers should use caution in the area and expect delays until early Saturday morning, officials said.
