11-year-old held at gunpoint in Raleigh robbery

An 11-year-old girl and her mother were held at gunpoint last month during a robbery, according to an arrest warrant.

Raheem Smith, 17, of 1321 Park Glen Drive, Apt. 202, was arrested Tuesday and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. He was being held in the Wake County jail under a $300,000 bond.

According to the warrant, Smith conspired with two others to rob a woman of her purse, which contained $10 in cash, a bank card and cigarettes. The woman and her daughter were held at gunpoint during the April 6 crime, the warrant states.

Smith served six months in jail in 2010 for convictions for selling drugs and conspiracy to commit common-law robbery, according to state Department of Correction records.
