June 1-4

May 30-June 4: 1776 - What will it take to get two dozen powerfully passionate, exceedingly complicated, and all-too-human individuals to settle their differences, while they hold the very future of a nation in their hands? See this Tony Award-winning Best Musical on stage at DPAC through June 4.

June 1: Dead & Company: The Final Tour - Dead & Company is an American rock band featuring former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti. They will bring their final tour to Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

June 1: Jazz at the NCMA: Kirk Whalum & Chante Moore -This evening features Grammy-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum and Grammy-nominated R&B vocalist Chanté Moore at North Carolina Museum of Art.

June 1-4: The Soccer Tournament - This 32-team, $1 million, open application, winner-take-all tournament is happening at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, June 1 through 4. Competing teams will include Wrexham (a team of Wrexham legends headlined by several stars from the "Welcome to Wrexham" TV series), Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. (comprised of legends, academy players and others representing the Wolves), US Women (led by former USWNT star Heather O’Reilly), Team Dempsey (spearheaded by USMNT legend Clint Dempsey), Club Necaxa (representing the historic Liga MX club), Hashtag United and more.

June 1: Triangle Word Clash - Hosted by Piedmont Laureate Dasan Ahanu, the N.C. Museum of History is celebrating North Carolina poetry by presenting this team poetry slam exhibition. Teams of poets from across the state have been invited to compete against the area’s own Bull City Slam Team.

June 1: Midtown Beach Music Series - This weekly music series at North Hills is from 5 to 9 p.m. at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park. This week, Chairmen of the Board performs. Tickets are $5.

June 2: An Evening with North Mississippi Allstars - See this band on stage at Lincoln Theatre on June 2.

June 2: Leslie Jones: Live - See this three-time Emmy nominee and SNL alum on stage at Carolina Theatre on June 2.

June 2: Pride Plaza Party - Join Raleigh Pride and Downtown Raleigh Alliance for a Pride kickoff party. Enjoy live entertainment from DJ Steven, and shop local with a curated market featuring local vendors. The event is happening at 227 Fayetteville St. from 6 to 9 p.m.

June 2: Smooth Nights at KBA - British Acid Jazz great, Incognito, led by multi-instrumentalist, song writer, producer, and arranger, Jean Paul “Bluey” Maunick, will take the stage at Booth Amphitheatre on June 2 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $41.

June 2: First 2023 Pride Kickoff Night Market - The Raleigh Night Market hosts this event with local vendors, food trucks and a drag show. It all happens from 6 to 10 p.m. on Fayetteville Street.

June 3: 2023 Wilson Pride Market - Start off Pride Month at this market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring local vendors, food trucks, entertainment, games and interactive stations in the heart of historic downtown Wilson.

June 3-4: First Fruits Farm Memorial Balloon Festival - This Louisburg festival honors service members and salutes their families with balloon rides and festivities.

June 3: Running of the Bulls 8K - In its 15th annual event, this scenic course will wind through the historic and revitalized neighborhoods of downtown Durham, American Tobacco Campus, Trinity Park and Old North Durham neighborhoods, and finish with a lap of the warning track inside the historic Old Durham Athletic Park.

June 3: Boxyard Turns 2 Celebration - Boxyard will celebrate its 2nd birthday with inflatables and games. Some highlights include a moonwalk, spin art and water tag. The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

June 3: Bimbé Celebration - This family-oriented event is a celebration of African and African American history, culture, arts and traditions. It is happening at Rock Quarry Park in Durham on Saturday. There will be live music, arts and crafts, a family fun zone and more Admission is free. The event is from 1 to 7 p.m.

June 3: MAKRS @ Durham Central Park - The MAKRS Society will be hosting it's monthly pop-up market at Durham Central Park. Shop from more than 55 local artists and makers, plus food trucks and coffee.

June 3: A Luau with Moana - Enjoy a luau with Moana at Little Doodles Play Cafe in north Raleigh from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on June 3. Tickets start at $12.

June 3: Beaver Queen Pageant: Once Upon a Wetland - The Beaver Queen Pageant is the Triangle’s own special mix of folly, pageantry and humor. Contestants take on beaver personalities and compete for the title of Beaver Queen with their fashion, talent, and personality. There will be music, a kid's art activity station, food trucks and much more during this event at Duke Park on June 3 starting at 4 p.m. Enjoy the fun at this family-friendly and free event which raises funds for the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association.

June 3: Bubbles & Brisket - Created on the North Carolina Food and Beverage Podcast, ‘Bubbles and Brisket’ is a collaboration of chefs, pit-masters, wine producers, sommeliers and brewers, pairing sparkling bubbles with a variety of cooking techniques and side dishes that feature everyone’s favorite: brisket. The event is June 3 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Smoky Hollow in Raleigh.

June 3: Dermot Kennedy The Sonder Tour - See this Irish singer-songwriter on stage at Red Hat Amphitheatre on June 3 with special guest Claire Rosinkranz.

June 3: Ever After: Fairytales, Food, and Flowers - Go on a botanical adventure at Fletcher Park in Raleigh. Explore different dessert, artisan and savory food vendors with samples and demos. Get your home and garden ready for summer with plants and produce from local nurseries. Kids will have the opportunity to make free crafts, meet fairytale characters for a photo op and participate in a garden-wide scavenger hunt. This event is free and open to the public.

June 3: Family Fun Fest - From crafts to trails, music to storytelling, kick off your summer with a trip through North Carolina history and culture during this afternoon of hands-on fun at the North Carolina Museum of History from noon to 4 p.m.

June 3: Haven Farm Grand Opening Celebration - Haven Farm is hosting the grand opening of its new garden gift shoppe and venue space in Knightdale on June 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day will include yoga, food trucks and customized cocktails.

June 3: Mid-Town Square Spring Festival 2023 - Bond Brothers Beer Company will present this festival on June 3 starting at noon. There will be live music, food trucks, a children's zone and new beer releases. Admission is free.

June 3: NC Summertime Beer Fest - Clouds Brewing is holding this beer fest featuring more than 35 hand-picked selections from their favorite breweries across the region. The event is from 3 to 7 p.m. on June 3. Tickets start at $20.

June 3: Raleigh's International Food Festival - Head to City Plaza on June 3 for this event featuring art, culture and traditions from around the world. There will be more than 50 food trucks and a large outdoor dance party. The event is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

June 3: Run For Love 5k - Enjoy a morning 5K race through Dorothea Dix Park followed by an after party at Trophy Brewing on June 3. Proceeds go to benefit Pride Raleigh and The LGBT Center of Raleigh.

June 3: Saturday Slowdown at RambleRill Farm in Hillsborough - This event will feature music by Blumora, a flower bar, chair massages, picnics, crafts for the kids, shopping and silent art auction to benefit Farmer Foodshare. Visit the goats, walk the trails, play yard games, and enjoy your BYO picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. Admission is free.

June 3: Summerfest: The Music of Whitney Houston - Join the North Carolina Symphony and celebrate the Whitney songs you know and love, including ‘How Will I Know?,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go?,” and of course, “I Will Always Love You.” This show is June 3 at Booth Amphitheatre.

June 3: 15th Annual Year-End Championship Step Show: Quest for the Best - Various community, elementary, middle and high school step teams will be performing during this event from 2 to 5 p.m. at Heritage Middle School. Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

June 4: A Celebration of African American Art with Song - This special concert draws inspiration from selected works of African American art at the NC Museum of Art as well as two powerful exhibitions, Ruth E. Carter: Afrofuturism in Costume Design and Michael Richards: Are You Down?. There will be a diverse mix of music including African American spirituals, contemporary and R&B. After the performance, attendees can visit the exhibitions and take a self-guided tour of African American art at the museum.

June 4: Birthday Celebration for Kids Together Playground - Enjoy an old-fashioned birthday party to celebrate the anniversary of the opening of Kids Together Playground. Meet at the picnic shelter to craft a party crown, march with KATAL the KT mascot, hear the KT Story, and make fruit juice slushies. The event is free.

June 4: LGBTQ+ Pride Ride with the Historic Raleigh Trolley - This ride will highlight historic locations, neighborhoods, businesses, churches, and other points of interest throughout the city as they pertain to the city's LGBTQ+ community. Tickets are $12 per person

June 4: Parlor Pride Party at Heights House Hotel - Help kick off Pride Month on the Heights House lawn with drag entertainers, a live DJ, a specialty parlor bar, food trucks and more. The party is from 2 to 6 p.m. on June 4.

June 4: Durham World Hunger Day - Go to Durham Central Park to commemorate World Hunger Day on Sunday. there will be resources and information related to food insecurity in Durham. There will be food trucks, a bounce house, free snacks, performances, giveaways and more. The event is from 3 to 6 p.m.

June 5: NC Official Juneteenth Flag-raising Ceremony - Witness the historic raising of the official Juneteenth flag, along with elected officials, community leaders, law enforcement and Buffalo Soldier re-enactors at the Durham County Courthouse on June 5 at 11:30 a.m. The flag will fly at the Durham County Courthouse until June 19.

June 5: Happy Together Tour Starring The Turtles, Little Anthony, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, The Vogues, Classics IV, & The Cowsills - The touring sensation that has criss-crossed the nation delighting audiences for over a decade returns with a show full of chart-topping hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s – an undeniable 61 Billboard Top 40 smashes. See them on stage at Carolina Theatre.

June 6: Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers - GRAMMY award winning artist Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers will play Raleigh’s Meymandi Concert Hall at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts on June 6.

June 7 and 10: Disney-Quest Film Series presents Sleepy Beauty - Enjoy a screening of this classic film. Wednesday showtimes are at 7 p.m. and Saturday showtimes are at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $8.84 plus taxes and fees.

June 7: Raleigh Night Market at City Market - Enjoy this market in downtown Raleigh's City Market from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be local vendors, entertainment, games, food trucks and more.

June 8: Jazz at the NCMA: Lalah Hathaway & PJ Morton - This concert features five-time Grammy-winning contemporary jazz/R&B vocalist Lalah Hathaway and four-time Grammy-winning neo soul, R&B, and funk songwriter/producer/singer PJ Morton at the North Carolina Museum of Art at 7 p.m.

June 8: AfterHours: Science Distilled - This 21 years and older event will start at 6:30 p.m. at the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science in Durham. Explore the chemistry of cocktails with some of Durham’s best mixologists. Chat with local distilleries and discover all the stages of liquor distillation, find out what makes their vodkas, whiskeys, and gins unique and of course, taste their products! Plus, enjoy adult-only access to the Museum’s exhibits and experiences.Tickets are $40 for the general public and $35 for museum members.

June 8: Midtown Beach Music Series - This weekly music series at North Hills is from 5 to 9 p.m. at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park. This week, Too Much Sylvia performs. Tickets are $5.

June 9: Shane Gillis - Shane Gillis is a stand-up comic, actor, and writer from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. See him on stage at DPAC.

June 9: Two Durhams Beer Festival - Durham Breweries partner with Breweries in Durham, England to produce English style beers during this event at Durham Central Park from 5 to 9 p.m.

June 9: Friday Family Flicks - Strange World - Enjoy a free family movie on the big screen at Garner Recreation Center on Friday. Concessions will be available for purchase. Rain date is the same time the following day. Don’t forget your lawn chairs or blankets.

June 9: Friday Night on White - Head to Wake Forest for this monthly celebration on White Street from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be food trucks and live music.

June 9: Summerfest: Fire & Rain: Songs of the 70s - The North Carolina Symphony and guest vocalists AJ Swearingen and Jayne Kelli perform classics from the 1970s by James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and more during this event on June 9 at Booth Amphitheatre.

June 10: Annual Apex Pride Festival - Enjoy this family-oriented, free event with over 100 artists, vendors and organizations. There will be a food truck rodeo, activities for children and teens, live music and more fun. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Hunter Street on the Apex Town Hall Campus.

June 10: Pride at Hi-Wire Brewing Durham - This party will be held from noon to 9 p.m. at Hi-Wire Brewing. It will feature a vendor pop-up market and an evening drag show from Chloe Cassidy from 7 to 9 p.m. It is $80 to attend the drag show.

June 10: Al Strong: Jazz Is My Religion - Join the North Carolina Museum of History to celebrate African American Music Appreciation Month with a special concert of jazz music performed by award-winning trumpet player, composer, recording artist, and educator Al Strong. Strong will be joined by a string quartet to amplify this performance.

June 10: 6th Annual Triangle Community Band Festival - Five Triangle area community bands will perform at Durham Central Park during this event from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is free and there will be multiple food and drink trucks.

June 10: Geek and Grub Market (Pride Edition) - This market will be held at Mordecai Historic Park on June 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be more than 40 geeky vendors, giant games, fun competitions and yummy food.

June 10: Nuv Yug India Fest - Discover Indian cultural arts via dance, music, traditional crafts, fashion, exhibition and cuisine at this event at the Jim Graham Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds on June 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

June 10: Summerfest: All Beethoven - Pack your picnic, lawn chairs, and blankets and enjoy great music under the stars from the North Carolina Symphony at Booth Amphitheatre at 8 p.m.

June 10: Taste of Music Festival - Enjoy reggae, jazz, Latin, gospel and R&B at this family-friendly event at 237 Friendship Chapel Road in Wake Forest on June 10. The event will also include vendors, food, live performances, line dancing, DJ and activities for children. Tickets are $20 for general admission and children ages 12 and under are admitted for free.

June 10: Town of Cary's Pimento Cheese Festival - Food trucks will line Academy Street to serve their regular menus, along with new dishes featuring a southern delicacy: pimento cheese! Enjoy live music at Downtown Park, grab a drink from local breweries, and taste some of the best pimento cheese samples from local restaurants. You can even test your skills in the pimento cheese sculpting contest.

June 11: 2023 Summer Soirée at City Market Downtown Raleigh - This summer market will be from 1 to 5 p.m. in City Market. It will feature local vendors, food trucks, entertainment games and more.

June 11: Ricardo Arjona - Edgar Ricardo Arjona Morales, known as Ricardo Arjona, is a Guatemalan singer and songwriter. He is one of the most successful and best-selling Latin American artists of all time, with more than 80 million records sold. See him at PNC Arena on June 11.

June 11: Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo - From noon to 4 p.m., enjoy food from a variety of area trucks, plus drinks from local breweries.

June 12: Toad the Wet Sprocket - The band brings its "All You Want" tour to Carolina Theatre with special guests Marcy Playground.

June 12-16: Juneteenth Jubilee - Join John Chavis Memorial Park and Community Center for a week-long celebration of free events that honor African-American culture through history, entertainment, arts and more.

June 13: Charley Crockett - Charley Crockett performs at The Ritz on June 13.

June 13: Jacob Collier: Djesse World Tour - Recognized by audiences, critics, and fellow musicians alike as one of the most gifted young artists of modern times, 28-year-old Jacob Collier already has a seemingly endless list of achievements, including five Grammy wins along with 11 Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year in 2021. See him perform at N.C. Museum of Art's Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Theater on June 13.

June 14: Styx - Styx draws from over four decades of barn-burning chart hits, joyous singalongs, and hard-driving deep cuts for their latest tour which stops at DPAC on June 14.

June 14: African American Politics: Past, Present, Future - Join the City of Raleigh Museum for a discussion on the changing face of the African American political involvement with Earl Ijames, curator at the North Carolina Museum of History and Yvonne Lewis-Holley, former N.C. state representative.

June 15: Midtown Beach Music Series - This weekly music series at North Hills is from 5 to 9 p.m. at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park. This week, Black Water Band performs. Tickets are $5.

June 15: An Evening with Larry the Cable Guy - Larry the Cable Guy is a multi-platinum recording artist, Grammy nominee, Billboard award winner and one of the top comedians in the country. He brings his comedy tour to DPAC on June 15.

June 15: Spaces for Queer Joy - Join Raleigh Pride and CAM Raleigh for a special conversation discussing the history of Queer nightlife spaces in Raleigh. Hear from local DJs and event producers on why these spaces need to be preserved.

June 15: Rise Up!: Poems of Protest, Poems of Praise reading with Mari Fitz Wynn - This is a poetry collection that weaves the voice of the past, the poems of a grandfather born to slave parents, and poems of the present, those of his granddaughter. Enjoy this reading at City of Raleigh Museum at 5 p.m.

June 16: The House of Coxx: It’s Funny, Girl! A Comedy Variety Show - Vivica C. Coxx presents this one-night-only spectacular involving music, comedy, spoken word, dance and theatrics at Carolina Theatre.

June 16: Honoring Juneteenth - Celebrate Juneteenth at the NC Museum of History on June 16 from noon to 4 p.m. Meet members of the Battery B Second Regiment, United States Colored Troops (USCT) Light Artillery Reenactors, and discover the legacy of the USCT in the struggle for freedom and citizenship during the American Civil War.

June 16: All Time Low - See the band play The Ritz in Raleigh.

June 16: Juneteenth Joy: A Celebration of Freedom and Gospel Music - This special event features performances from The Clark Sisters, John P. Kee, Pastor Shirley Caesar and special guest Jonathan McReynolds at the North Carolina Museum of Art's Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Theater in the Museum Park.

June 16: Pixies - See the band on stage at Red Hat Amphitheater.

June 17: Capital City Juneteenth Celebration - WRAL is a proud community partner of this event at Dix Park. There will be a full afternoon of entertainment, food, family activities and vendors. The event is from 1 to 6 p.m. on the Big Field at Dix Park and The Chapel at Dix Park.

June 17: Oberlin Village Heritage 5K Run/Walk - WRAL is a proud partner of this event on June 17 at WakeMed Soccer Park. The event includes a 5K for adults and a Kid's Dash for those 8 years and younger.

June 17-18: Juneteenth Celebration - Head to the Golden Belt Campus for this fun-filled, educational and uplifting event that will include national recording artists and local performers, food trucks, vendors, a fashion show, a kids' zone, exhibitors and more. Admission is free.

June 17: Flower Fest (Indie Music and Art Festival) - This event in Shakori Hills will feature six bands, art installations, food trucks, drinks, activities, local vendors and more from 11 a.m to 7 p.m.

June 17: African American Festival - This family-centered festival will celebrate African American culture with live music, arts and crafts, vendors, community resources and ethnic foods at Knightdale Station Park from 4 to 9 p.m.

June 17: Garner Freedom Celebration Juneteenth Program - This event at Garner Performing Arts Center will feature remarks and performances by Duke professor Mary Williams as well as performances by gospel legend Lena Mae Perry. Local church choirs will perform. This event is free and open to the public.

June 17: Family Movie Night - The Town of Wake Forest will host this outdoor movie night at Joyner Park. The screening will be of the movie "Encanto." Family Movie Nights at Joyner Park will also include movie-related pre-show activities beginning at 7:15 p.m.

June 17: Pride Market and Drag Show - Co-hosted by Urban Pothos and Hartwell, this event consists of an outdoor makers market and an indoor drag show. Proceeds from the drag show benefit the LGBT Center of Raleigh. The event is at Hartwell Raleigh from noon to 4 p.m.

June 17: Summer Expo Pop-Up Market - Head to Moore Square for this event featuring more than 70 vendors with retro and modern games, consoles and other geek items. There will also be food trucks, free gaming booths and live music. The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Moore Square.

June 17: Rebelution - See the band on stage at Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh.

June 17: Summerfest: Classics Under the Stars - The NC Symphony shares great moments in classical music, including selections from Mozart, Mendelssohn, and more during this show June 17 at Booth Amphitheatre.

June 18: The All White Experience - This event at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh will include live performances, free champagne and food. Tickets start at $40.

June 22: The Magick Makers Summer Solstice Market - Celebrate the longest days of the year with a night market at Durham Central Park. The market will feature more than 55 witchy and witchy-adjacent artists, makers, healers and readers.

June 22: Jazz at the NCMA: Robert Glasper & Samara Joy - This show features five-time Grammy-winning jazz pianist Robert Glasper and 23-year-old jazz sensation Samara Joy.

June 22: Kip Moore: Damn Love World Tour - See him on stage at The Ritz.

June 22: Midtown Beach Music Series - This weekly music series at North Hills is from 5 to 9 p.m. at Coastal Credit Union Midtown Park. This week, The Embers featuring Craig Woodlard performs. Tickets are $5.

June 23: Jo Dee Messina - See her on stage at The Ritz.

June 23: Summer Jam 2023 - This show features Morris Day and the Time at Booth Amphitheatre.

June 23: Durham Summer Wine and Food - Head to Durham Central Park for this event from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be restaurant pop-ups, food trucks, vendors, a full bar, a crawfish boil and live entertainment. June 23-25: BrickUniverse Raleigh - This annual LEGO fan convention is coming to the Raleigh Convention Center June 23-25. June 24: N.C. Hops Fest - the 3rd annual NC Hops Festival will take place on June 24 at the Jim Graham Building at the NC State Fairgrounds. It will feature North Carolina craft beer, ciders, live music, local makers and food trucks.

June 24: Out! Raleigh Pride - Enjoy live entertainment, local vendors, great food and activities for all ages at the 11th annual Out! Raleigh Pride festival in downtown Raleigh. This inclusive and family-friendly event supports the LGBT Center of Raleigh and promotes diversity, awareness, and inclusiveness for the LGBTQIA+ community.

June 24: Peter Frampton - "Never Say Never" Tour - The tour stops at Red Hat Amphitheater on June 24.

June 24: Rock the Park Concert & Movie Series - This free summer series will feature a screening of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" at Durham Central Park at 8:30 p.m. Bring your own picnic blanket or chair. No alcohol or smoking allowed.

June 24: Summerfest: Harry Potter vs. Star Wars - Two of the biggest film franchises battle it out at Summerfest! It’s wands vs. light sabers as your North Carolina Symphony performs music from both epic worlds at Booth Amphitheatre.

June 24: American Summer: Craft Beer, BBQ, and Live Music - The Glass Jug Beer Lab will host this afternoon of fun featuring live music, craft beer, ice cream and barbecue.
