N.C. gets tornado test for Severe Weather Awareness Week

State leaders want your children to know what to do if a tornado strikes.

At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, schools and government buildings across North Carolina planned to participate in a tornado drill as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.

According to the National Weather Service, 50 tornadoes touched down in North Carolina last year.
