Store clerk robbed at knifepoint near NC State

North Carolina State University sent an alert to students after a convenience store clerk was robbed at knifepoint late Wednesday night close to campus.

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State University sent an alert to students after a convenience store clerk was robbed at knifepoint late Wednesday night close to campus.

The robbery occurred at the Han-Dee Hugo's on Western Boulevard around 11 p.m.

According to Raleigh police, a man walked inside the store with a knife, threatened the clerk and took money from the cash register. He fled in the direction of N.C. State, past Biscuitville and toward the ES King Village area, prompting the university to send a Wolf Alert as a precaution.

The store clerk was not injured.

The robber was described by the clerk as a white male wearing a black hoodie, a black-and-white face covering and blue surgical gloves. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Raleigh Police Department by calling 911 or 919-878-3561.
