FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — A truck stolen more than a month ago from a Fuquay-Varina business has been recovered, but a trailer stolen the same night from a company in New Hill remains missing.

In the early morning hours of May 11, thieves stole a truck cab from A & B Land & Timber, 12331 N.C. Highway 42 West in Fuquay-Varina, authorities said. It was the company’s only truck.

About an hour later, the thieves used the truck to steal a $40,000 trailer from Williams Brothers Trucking, 6991 Old U.S. Highway 1 in New Hill.

A & B Co-owner Sherry Johnson said someone recognized the truck at Ivey's Towing and Transport in Garner and called police. It had been towed on June 5 after being found parked illegally at Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q in Raleigh.

The trailer has not been found.

The trailer has “Williams Brothers Trucking” decals and Georgia tag number LE5256F.

The owners of Williams Brothers Trucking are offering a $5,000 reward. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Roger Williams at the company at 912-424-4777.
