Stolen car found crashed, upside down in Raleigh parking lot

Police are trying to find out who's responsible for stealing and crashing a car in a Raleigh parking lot on Tuesday morning.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are trying to find out who's responsible for stealing and crashing a car in a Raleigh parking lot on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened in the parking lot of a strip mall at 2008 New Bern Ave.

The car was reported stolen around 1:30 a.m. within miles of where it eventually crashed, according to Raleigh police. Around two hours later, police found it upside down significantly damaged with hazard lights on. The person responsible ran away.

The car appeared significantly damaged and was being towed away around 6:10 a.m.
