Stock up on summer reads at Wake County's annual book sale

Wake County is putting more than 220,000 books up for sale beginning Thursday for its annual book-selling event to raise money for other county services.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County is putting more than 220,000 books up for sale beginning Thursday for its annual book-selling event to raise money for other county services.

The sale begins Thursday evening at 5 p.m. at the Expo Center and runs through Sunday. Hardbound books will sell four $4, while paperbacks, children's books and media will sell for $2, but the deals will change throughout the weekend.

Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.

Thursday (5 - 9 p.m.)

  • Hardbound books $4
  • Paperbacks $2
  • Children’s Books $2
  • Media $2

Friday, Buy One Get One (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.)

  • Hardbound books $4
  • Paperbacks $2
  • Children’s books $2
  • Media $2

Saturday, Buy One Get One (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.)

  • Hardbound books $2
  • Paperbacks $1
  • Children’s books $1
  • Media $1

Sunday, Bargain Day (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

  • Box of books $3
  • Boxes while supplies last

All the money from the sale goes back to Wake County's general fund, which is used for all county agencies and programs.
