State trooper attempts to stop stolen car going 100mph; chase ends in crash on New Hope Road; driver not found

Late Saturday night, a police chase ended in a crash on New Hope Road in Raleigh.

Late Saturday night, a police chase ended in a crash on New Hope Road in Raleigh.

At 11:05 p.m., a state trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a car that was speeding. The car was going more than 100mph on I-87 south near Hodge Road in Wake County.

The driver refused to stop and fled from the trooper. The driver then exited off of I-87 onto New Hope Road, at which point the trooper lost sight of the car.

The chase ended at 11:07 p.m. when the trooper lost sight of the car.

They were able to locate the car after it crashed at 11:11 p.m. near the intersection of Poole Road and New Hope Road.

When officers arrived at the crash site, the car was abandoned and the suspect had fled.

It was confirmed that the car had been stolen from Zebulon.

The suspect has not been located at this time.

Police could be seen searching the area for the suspect.

Evidence from the vehicle is currently being processed to help locate the driver.
