SANFORD, N.C. — A Harnett County man who pleaded guilty to a charge of manufacturing child pornography has earned his third strike for sex offenses and faces a sentence of 35 years to life.

Bailey Joe Mills' most recent arrest came in June, when he was named as the operator of an unregistered day care at his home at 184 Nichole Drive in Sanford. There, according to investigators, he sold the sexual services of his charges to other men.

A search of Mills' home turned up several videos of him molesting children as young as 1 year old and tens of thousands of images of child pornography. Investigators identified 10 victims of Mills' sex ring between ages 1 and 14.

Mills was arrested in January for allegedly propositioning a 13-year-old girl for sex.

Both those incidents came after Mills' convictions in 1997 and again in 2000 for indecent liberties with a child.
