Raleigh, N.C. — The North Carolina Board of Funeral Services is urging families who have recently experienced a death to exercise caution when dealing with insurance matters.
A man is reported to be calling family members and telling them that they can collect on an insurance policy. All they have to do to collect is send a premium payment to a company based in Augusta, Ga.
The state Board of Funeral Services said calls like that are a scam.
