State Fair: UNC-TV lines up characters, mascots for Guest Star Day
UNC-TV will be teaming up with both Marbles Kids Museum and the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences this year to offer some great, low-key, free fun at the N.C. State Fair.
Posted — UpdatedThe booth, which sits next to Dorton Arena, features games and activities best for toddlers and grade schoolers. They usually have some fun freebies as well. I've written about this exhibit twice. You can see my earlier posts in the More on This section. It's a great place to slow down for a bit after a visit to the midway.
UNC-TV's regular Guest Star Day is set for this Saturday, Oct. 18, the first Saturday of the fair. On Guest Star Day, characters and mascots from UNC-TV's popular children's programs come out for visits and photo opportunities.
Here's the schedule for this Saturday:
2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Martha
Marbles will be offering free games for the kids in the exhibit. And, for the first time, the natural sciences will offer some activities in a tent inside the UNC-TV booth. Oct. 25, the second Saturday of the fair, will be Science Day when both Marbles and natural sciences museum staff will offer special activities.
