Tickets for "An Afternoon with Adam and Jamie" go on sale to the public Monday. Tickets start at $18 per person. The show is 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at UNC's Dean E. Smith Center.
During the 90-minute program, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will share stories about scenes from the show and feature special video presentations of explosions and other outtakes. There also will be a Q&A session led by UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp.
The TV show revolves around Adam, Jamie and their team of investigators applying scientific method to common-held beliefs. The Emmy-nominated show has tested more than 700 myths since it first aired in 2003. The two also are known for their work in special effects in movies, commercials and elsewhere.
The science festival will span Sept. 11 through Sept. 26 with special events and programs at museum, parks and other sites across the state. Stay tuned to Go Ask Mom for more on the festival.
