STANTONSBURG, N.C. — A Stantonsburg teenager is facing a felony charge after authorities said he threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot students.

Brandon McMahon, 16, of the 200 block of Stanton Acres Drive, is charged with false report of mass violence on education property, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the teen, who attends Charles B. Aycock High School, said he was going to bring a gun to school and “shoot everyone on the bus.”

A school official reported the threat Friday, investigators said.

The teen was being held under a $5,000 bond.
