A Stanly County lawyer resigned Tuesday from the UNC-TV Board of Trustees, the station's director of communications, Steve Volstad, said.
Bruce Thompson thought his work in the county could create a potential conflict of interest.
UNC-TV has aired extensive reports on the actions of Alcoa Inc. in the county. Alcoa and the county are at odds over the company's bid to renew its federal license to operate dams on the Yadkin River.
