RALEIGH, N.C. — Eighteen months after reopening, Standard Foods has closed its restaurant again.
Representatives said the restaurant closed on Thursday and would reopen once a new head chef was found. The grocery portion of the store at 205 E. Franklin in Raleigh remains open.
Standard Foods opened in November 2015 with chef Scott Crawford, a four-time James Beard Foundation semi-finalist, running the kitchen. Less than a year later, Crawford left the restaurant to open Crawford and Son located around the corner.
Standard Foods closed its restaurant for four months in 2016 while it welcomed chef Eric Montagne, who had been the executive chef at Boiler Room Oyster Bar in Kinston.
