The annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers is today, Saturday, May 12. This is such an easy way to donate some of your non-perishable food overstock to folks who could really use the help!

This is such an easy way to donate some of your non-perishable food overstock to folks who could really use the help! I challenge you to donate even just one item.
Last year they collected enough food to provide over 350,000 meals to families in the 34-county service area of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
All you need to do is leave a non-perishable food item in or by your mailbox or you can deliver it to your local post office on Saturday, May 12. This is a nationwide food drive, so everyone can participate. Pass this on to all your friends in every state!
Items that are good to donate include canned meats, fish, soup, bottled juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice that do not require refrigeration. They request on the website that you do not include any items in glass bottles or any expired products.
If everyone who reads this blog donates just one item for this food drive, we could help them collect a ton of food! If you can donate 2 or 3 cans or boxes of food, that's even better.
