Spring Lake Robbery Suspect Still at Large

Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Spring Lake last month.

Police Search For Spring Lake Robbery Suspect
SPRING LAKE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies continued the search on Friday for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Spring Lake last month.

Benjamin Mangum, 29, allegedly drove the get-away car during a robbery at a Family Dollar Store in the Skyland Shopping Center, police said. Mangum and Marcus Jerome Morgan, 25, of 5624 Carson Drive in Fayetteville, are accused of taking an undisclosed amount of money.

Morgan was later arrested at 5728 Holland St. He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $120,000 secured bond.

Warrants for robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon have been issued for Mangum.

Detectives say Mangum is considered armed and dangerous. He frequents the Tiffany Court and Aftonshire Road areas.
