Jordon Hudson could own Belichick-focused trademarks, including 'Chapel Bill,' by May 1

Jordon Hudson, the girlfriend of University of North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick, is getting closer to owning key trademarks tied to the legendary coach. 

Trademarks for “Chapel Bill” and “Chapel Bill (Bill’s version)” could soon become property of TCE Rights Management LLC, a Massachusetts-based company that Hudson created to manage intellectual property, trademarks and copyrights.

“Chapel Bill” and “Chapel Bill (Bill’s version)” are among four trademarks filed by TCE that have been published in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Official Gazette on March 31. Being published in the gazette opens a 30-day opposition period during which members of the public can oppose the trademark.

If nobody opposes the trademark during the publication period, the trademark application moves to the next stage of the registration process, according to the Patent and Trademark Office, the federal authority that registers patents and trademarks. It can take three or four months for the trademark to register.

The other trademarks published are for “All-Belichick Team” and “All-Time Belichick Team.”

The trademark applications cover a wide variety of potential goods including jewelry, paper goods and printed materials, education and entertainment, clothing and shows.

TCE, one of at least 16 companies created in Massachusetts by Hudson, filed at least 22 trademark applications in 2025 with most relating to Belichick in some way. 

The U.S. Trade and Patent Office rejected four applications for trademarks that were owned by the New England Patriots, the NFL team that Belichick coached to six Super Bowl titles from 2000 to 2023.

Those applications were for “Do Your Job (Bill’s Version),” “Ignore the Noise (Bill’s Version),” “The Belestrator (Bill’s Version),” and “No Days Off (Bill’s Version.”

Belichick, who turned 74 last week, is set to begin his second season at UNC. The Tar Heels went 4-8 in Belichick’s first season

In addition to his six Super Bowl titles with New England, Belichick also won two Super Bowls as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants. Before his run with the Patriots, Belichick was head coach of the Cleveland Browns from 1991 to 1995. Belichick, who coached nearly 50 years in the NFL, is considered one of the greatest coaches in NFL history.

Hudson, 25, and Belichick have been dating since 2023. Hudson has been a presence around the UNC football program since Belichick was hired in late 2024. She is not employed by the athletic department or the university. 

Belichick said they have a personal and professional relationship, one that became a focus of national attention when she interjected during a question about how they met during a taped CBS interview with Belichick last year.
