Former Duke running back Jordan Waters transfers to NC State

Duke's leading rusher, running back Jordan Waters, entered the transfer portal, in Durham and came out in Raleigh. Waters announced via social media on Monday afternoon he's committed to play for NC State next season.

Waters, a North Carolina native, led the Blue Devils in carries (142), rushing yards (753) and touchdowns (12) this season. One of Waters' best performances came in Durham against the Wolfpack in October, when he rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, including an 83-yard score, in Duke's 24-3 win.

Waters also added seven catches for 130 yards in the receiving game in 2023.

While Waters had a career year this season, he had plenty of success in 2022 as well, running for 566 yards and eight touchdowns.

NC State has been busy in the transfer portal, picking up several key players including Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall as well as Wake Forest wide receiver Wesley Grimes.
