Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall announced Monday he is entering the transfer portal.
McCall said he plans to play for Coastal Carolina on Dec. 27 in the Birmingham Bowl against East Carolina.

“I will play in the bowl game and finish what I started,” McCall wrote in a graphic posted to his Twitter page.
McCall helped lead the Chanticleers to a 9-3 record in the 2022 season.
“The relationships I have built here will last a lifetime, and I am forever grateful for that,” McCall wrote. “I want to thank my teammates, coaching staff, and administration for always having my back and trusting me no matter what.
“I want to thank my family and best friends for sticking with me through thick and thin. This has been extremely hard for me, but after much prayer and careful consideration, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal to explore other opportunities.”
In the 2022 season, McCall completed 197 passes on 285 attempts for 2,633 yards, 24 touchdowns and two interceptions. He has thrown 78 touchdown passes in his Coastal Carolina career.
On Dec. 5, Coastal Carolina introduced Tim Beck as its fourth head coach after Jamey Chadwell accepted the Liberty University head coaching position.
Liberty had a vacancy after Hugh Freeze accepted the Auburn head coaching job.
On Monday, Beck joined "The OG" on 99.9 The fan as a guest. Hosts Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio asked Beck about the transfer portal.
"It's a big thing right now in college football," Beck said. "I'll be honest, right now, I'm just trying to find my office.
"I'm just trying to get by day by day, Joe. It's crazy, but you have to address it. I think ... One thing I talked to the team about is there are some many players entering the portal. Like, it's not ... This isn't like you've got a coupon to go to McDonald's or something and get a free meal. Like, you have to make sure you've got a place to go."
