The N.C. Museum of Art has a couple of virtual programs this month for families, including one that takes a deeper dive into its new exhibition, Golden Mummies of Egypt.

Here's what's planned, with descriptions courtesy of the art museum.

Creative Processing for Families: Identity

  • 2 p.m., Sunday, April 11

This hour-long virtual workshop explores Yayoi Kusama’s Light of Life to start a conversation about our sense of self and the many ways we experience identity. Participants will have time for a guided exploration of art-making processes to create their own reflective work of art as a family.

Space is limited; reserve a spot by clicking the ticketing link. The first 30 participants can choose to receive a special kit of art materials. Register here.

Virtual Afternoon with the Mummies

  • 4 p.m., Monday, April 12
Get an insider’s view of the exhibition Golden Mummies of Egypt from home with this special program just for families! Look closely, ask questions, and learn more during this 30-minute interactive virtual session. Each program focuses on one or two works of art to introduce families to objects from the lives and afterlives of ancient Egyptians. Best for children six and up. Register here.
