Claudio Daniel Castillo, 18, was arrested Saturday morning after police found the victim with a head injury at 1225 Central Drive.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Southern Pines police have arrested and charged a Moore County man with first-degree murder.

Claudio Daniel Castillo, 18, was arrested Saturday morning after police found the victim with a head injury at 1225 Central Drive.

The victim, whose name was not released, died at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Castillo was being held in the Moore County Detention Center Tuesday without bond. His first court appearance is July 6.
