Southern Pines drug suspect arrested on federal charges

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — The Moore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested a Southern Pines man on Wednesday on drug charges.

Jarvaris Antwan Andrews, 23, of 505 West Main Ave., was arrested on federal drug charges for distributing crack cocaine.

A four month undercover investigation in the Southern Pines area and resulted in the seizure of approximately 71 grams of crack cocaine. At the time of his arrest approximately nine grams of crack cocaine, five grams of powder cocaine, five dosage units of Ecstasy, two grams of marijuana, $1,038 in U.S. currency and digital scales were seized.

In a search of the defendant’s residence, officers located and seized $8,099 in U. S. currency, less than one gram of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The estimated street value of the drugs seized during the undercover operation and seized during the arrest was $7,100.


Andrews was transported to Federal Court in Winston Salem and will be held in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service without bond pending a detention hearing.
