I-95 lanes open after Halifax County accident
Southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed for about an hour in Halifax County south of Roanoke Rapids Tuesday afternoon.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — Southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed for about an hour in Halifax County south of Roanoke Rapids Tuesday afternoon.
A detour was posted, and drivers should expect delays through about 4 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.
By 3 p.m., the accident had been cleared, but traffic between Exit 160, N.C. Highway 561, and Exit 154, N.C. Highway 481, was moving at about 25 mph as the backup unwound.
