Southbound Capital Boulevard near downtown to close overnight Wednesday
The N.C. Department of Transportation's contractor for the Capital Boulevard bridges project will close the southbound lanes of Capital Boulevard from Johnson Street to Lane Street beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. on Thursday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The N.C. Department of Transportation’s contractor for the Capital Boulevard bridges project will close the southbound lanes of Capital Boulevard from Johnson Street to Lane Street beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. on Thursday.
This closure will allow the contractor to complete the installation of sanitary sewer lines beneath the roadway that it was not able to finish over the weekend.
Drivers will be detoured from southbound Capital Boulevard onto Johnson Street, then south on Harrington Street to Jones Street.
Drivers should pay extra attention while driving through the work zone and allow extra time to navigate the detour route.
