Editor's Note: Stay tuned for Songs of the Season all week, featuring some really talented local kids and teens performing some holiday tunes on stage at Imurj, a collaborative art and music space in downtown Raleigh.
Jessie Lang, 15, is no stranger to the stage.
A sophomore at Franklin Academy, this rising singer-songwriter loves to perform and has won multiple performance awards. She's the lead guitarist, vocalist and half of bluegrass band The Lang Sisters, performing on a regular basis with her sister Chloe, a 19-year-old college student. In 2018, they'll be performing at the acclaimed MerleFest in 2018. The annual music festival draws more than 75,000 people to Wilkesboro, N.C., and big names in the traditional and contemporary roots music world.
Jessie also is a member of the esteemed IBMA Kids on Bluegrass ensemble and the Carolina PineCones, performing throughout the Southeast. And, somehow, she makes time to be the guitarist for her high school jazz band.
Watch the video to listen to her beautiful and intricate rendition of "We Three Kings."
