Some worry delay in getting stimulus checks could affect their monthly budgets
The IRS says stimulus payments mistakenly sent to tax preparers like H&R Block will be reissued to taxpayers. But people on tight budgets wonder when they will see the money.
It's frustrating, but it's also scary if this is deposited into someone else's account. Does that mean that we're just not going to get the check? Chelsea Johnson, who lives in Huntsville, tells us she got the first payment in the spring with no issues. But when she went to the I. R s site to track this stimulus check, it showed Thekla current check. Uh, was going to be deposited or is going to be deposited today, January 4th, and it shows a completely different bank account, and it is not my bank account. But could this be the reason the money isn't in her hands? Monday night, H and R Block posted on Facebook, saying in part, If you took a refund transfer, it may be reflecting that account number. Check your 2019 return to confirm Jesse Jackson is in the same boat. Jackson tells us the account number on her stimulus payment also matches the H and R account number. It's just it's very frustrating. The big question. Now, when will this money make it into their accounts? It is kind of eye opening for it as well that there are so many people just in my community that air banking on this so they could, you know, make the rest of their ramp payment so they can get groceries for their Children.
